Hate Crimes Rose In 2018 In the US and they Were All Right-Wing Related

Last year marked the most killings by far-right attackers since 1995, with 42 of 50 murders carried out with firearms, and the murders were overwhelmingly linked to right wing extremists. And All This While Americans Are Unlearning About Slavery and the Holocaust

The above links are surveys about Americans’ knowledge of slavery by the Southern Poverty Law Center and their knowledge of the holocaust by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. The most startling number from the holocaust survey is that 41% of Americans don’t know what Auschwitz was. It also says 58% of Americans think something like the holocaust could happen here. The slavery survey was done with American high schoolers, and only 8% of high school students knew the civil war was fought over slavery.
