Unpops Ep. 201 – “Why Calexit Could Still Totally Happen”

Good news! It’s time for a new episode of Unpopular Opinion! The topic of conversation this week is Calexit. Your guests are Connor McSpadden and Keith Carey of the Mean Boys podcast. You can find the episode right damn here:

If you really want to be a pal you can subscribe and find all of the episodes on iTunes. Maybe leave us a good rating and review while you’re there. Podcasts thrive on that kind of shit.

Anyway, you might recall that we did an episode about Calexit once before. Not long after that, the movement’s founder gave up and set sail for the sunny shores of Russia. Death knells don’t get much more pronounced than that, so it seemed like California seceding from the United States was a threat that had safely passed.

Nope! Fast forward to right now and, not only is the original Calexit movement back with a new leader, but there’s also a second, slightly different version running at the exact same time.

Make no mistake, it’s still a horrible idea and probably won’t happen. However, between the deep division between political sides in this country and the fact that this idea refuses to go away, there’s plenty of reason to worry that it might. That will mean bad things for this country. How so? Listen to the episode and find out!

Hey! You! Subscribe to Unpopular Opinion on iTunes! Even better, if you want to hear every episode of every Unpops Network show, completely ad-free, subscribe on Patreon.
